After a few lineside fires, the railway is going onto firecon 4, once 5428 gets to Grosmont with 1T12 on 9th April.

 

8th May

The first two guest locos for this year's diesel gala have been announced. 55009 Alycidon and 50021 Rodney (aka Dave!) are to come here. Another star guest is currently being planned. More details later.

 

27th May

The final two guest locos for this year's diesel gala have been announced. 37688 Great Rocks and 33202 Dennis G Robinson.

 

3rd June

The first two guest locos for this year's diesel gala have arrived. 37688 Great Rocks and 50021 "Dave" are here. The timetables, showing loco allocations are now live on this site.

 

10th June

Unfortunately repairs to the vacuum brake equipment on 37688 are progressing, but will not be ready before the weekend, at the earliest. The diagrams have been amended slightly for Thursday and Friday. If Saturday or Sunday need changes, this will appear by Friday.

 

13th June

Following a successful test run with 37688 piloting 37418 today, it is available for traffic on Saturday and Sunday, along with the other 37s. Some double-heading of 37s may take place.

 

1st August

On Sundays 17th, 24th & 31st August 37688 will work 1050 Grosmont to Whitby. On the return 37264 will double-head on 1350 Grosmont to Pickering and 1520 return to Grosmont.

 

13th August

33202 will be working ths weekend. On Friday 15th & Saturday 16th it will be working 1035 & 1440 Grosmont-Pickering, 1200 & 1615 Pickering-Grosmont. On Saturday it will also work 1745 Grosmont-Pickering. On Sunday 17th, 33202 works 0920 & 1410 (diner) Pickering-Grosmont 1235 diner Grosmont to Pickering.
